 Roughness Effects on Turbulence

Title: Developing New Wall Laws for Turbulent Flows over Rough Domains

Objective: To extend the wall laws to incompressible turbulent flows over periodic rough boundaries by asymptotic expansion tecniques and develop stabilized finite element methods for turbulence models.

Participant: G. Mèdic, G. Barrenechea and F. Valentin

Period: 09/2002 - 01/2004

 Enriched Finite Element Method

Title: New Enriched Finite Element Method via Multiscale Approach

Objective: To develop enriched finite element method for transport, fluid and solid models based on multiscale approach. To make numerical analysis of the new methods and to point out the correspondence between stabilized and enriched methods. To write a finite element code in C++ containing these researches.

 LNCC-INRIA Project

Title: Unsteady Wall Laws and Applications

Objective: To extend the wall laws to unsteady laminar flows based on domain decomposition methods and on asymptotic development methods. The unsteady wall laws are applied to treat rough boundaries and synthetic jets. As an application we will investigate fluid-sctruture iteration problems.

Participant: Y. Achdou, O. Pironneau, P. LeTallec and F. Valentin
