Theoretical and Practical Course in Bioinformatics Applied to Proteomics and Structural Bioinformatics.

March 20th-31th, 2006. Petrópolis, RJ - Brazil.

Purposal:

This course aims to provide an intensive training in the bioinformatics area giving the students a solid multidisciplinary background in Computational Molecular Biology and at same time will put the students in contact with the most recent tools and techniques of this field.

MCT through LNCC, together with the ICGEB Centre (The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology) focused efforts to make this idea real. The ICGEB is an international organisation dedicated to advanced research and training in molecular biology and biotechnology. LNCC is an important federal centre dedicated to several scientific computational research fields, among them, bioinformatics.

Faculty:

Amos Bairoch - Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, Switzerland.

Patricia Palagi (Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, Switzerland)

Goran Neschi (Embrapa)

Richard Garrat - USP, São Carlos.

Lecture Topics:

Introduction to Proteomics;

Structural Bioinformatics;
